Mrs. Maggie Alice Covington Reynolds, 93, of Roberdell, departed this life on Thurs., Sept. 18, at The Inn at Quail Haven Village. Born on Nov. 10, 1914, in the Ledbetter Community in Richmond County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Clay and Sarah Effie Covington. She and her husband of 62 years, William Ashby Reynolds, resided in the Reynolds family home in Roberdell throughout their life together. Willie and Maggie were active members of the Roberdell United Methodist Church and later the First United Methodist Church of Rockingham. Maggie was a devoted homemaker and church member. She was especially well-known for her outstanding home-cooking and loyal friendship to many. She was retired from Richmond County School system. In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, her brother James Earl Covington of Hamlet, and her sister Lena C. Green of Rockingham. She is survived by her sister, Jewell C. Pruden of Southern Pines; her daughter, Betsy R. Cadieu of Pinehurst; her son and his wife Bill and Jeanne Reynolds of Whispering Pines; four grandchildren, Elizabeth R. Cadieu of Seven Lakes, Bonnie M. Cadieu of Greenville, S.C., Joy Alice Gallagher of Coral Gables, FL. and John N. Cadieu III of Rockingham; four great-granddaughters, Reyna Diaz of Seven Lakes, Nealey Diaz of Aberdeen, Josie Cadieu and Jessica Cadieu both of Rockingham; and a great-great-granddaughter, Adreyana F. Diaz of Seven Lakes. The family will receive friends during Visitation in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Rockingham at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 21st. Service in the sanctuary will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by the Rev. Keith Nanney and the Rev. Leonard Mayo. Burial service will follow at Eastside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 637, Rockingham, NC 28380, or to The Inn at Quail Haven Village, 155 Blake Blvd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
