Sarah Kathleen McDonald Raines

Sarah Kathleen McDonald Raines, 85, of Ellerbe, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Hospice Haven of Rockingham. Mrs. Raines was born September 21, 1929 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John and Cora McDonald. She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oma M. Raines, daughter Kathy R. Wilson, grandson Jerry “Punky” Martin, Jr. and Grady Holland. Surviving are her children, William “Billy” Raines of Ellerbe, Susie Raines of Ellerbe, Linda R. Taylor (Joey) of Rockingham, James “Jimbo” Raines of the home, Lisa R. Tingle of the home; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a sister, AnnaBell Raines. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home, Ellerbe Chapel. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 1:45 to 2:45 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home.
