David Aaron Kelley, Sr..

David Aaron Kelley, Sr., 72, of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home. David was born September 8, 1942 in Wyandotte, Michigan, a son of the late Aaron Prophet and Mary Elizabeth Qualls Kelley. He retired from Marblehead Lime Company in River Rouge; was a long-time supporter and member of New Heights as well as being an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the DWF ( Downriver Walleye Federation) and enjoyed working with wood as well as collecting antiques, he saw value in everything. David was preceded in death by his first son, two granddaughters, Kimberly and Katelyn, a brother Wiley and two sisters, Ruth Kelley and Melba Ashworth. Beloved husband of 49 years to Lillie Mae McLain Kelley of the home; loving dad of David, Jr. (Sherry), James (Janet), Kenney (Tina) and Jennifer; proud papaw to Jamie, Jr., Leah, Gabriel, Andrew, Joey, Eliana, and Evelyn, as well as to his step grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Tommy and Catherine; step great grandfather of Vinnie, Aiden and Liam; and dearest brother of Carolyn Williams (the late Norman), Evelyn Brewer (Butch) and Kathy Gill (Chuck). Also surviving are other loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church in Rockingham, NC with Rev. Tim Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 5 to 8 pm Monday at Trinity Emmanuel Holiness Church in Rockingham.
