Jerry Dale Stephens, Jr

Jerry Dale Stephens, Jr., 58, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Jerry was born September 8, 1956 in Richmond County, a son of the late Jerry Dale Stephens and the late Joann Freeman Stephens Herrick. He had been employed with JP Stevens Co., Vulcan Materials, Hudson Paving and most recently was a vendor at the Rockingham Flea Market. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Stephens and step father, Wendell Herrick. Surviving are his sisters, Cathy Herrick and Cheryl Snead, both of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Edwards, Rev. Ricky Jacobs and Rev. Kenny Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow in Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at his niece’s home, Catherine Herrick, 119 Crestmont Dr., Rockingham, NC 28379.
