Daniel A. "DA" Coble, Jr.

Daniel Archie “Papa DA” Coble, Jr., 71, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. DA was born April 2, 1943 in Richmond County, a son of the late Daniel Archie and Bernice Ann McLendon Coble. He was a charter member of Abundant Life Church, where he helped build the current church and loved to work with and entertain the children. He was a talented carpenter, working in construction most of his life, loved making Native American crafts and fishing. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Rorie Coble of the home; sons, Daniel Alexander Coble (Annie) of Rockingham, David Allen Coble (Vicky) of Monroe; 8 grandchildren; brother, Jerry Neil Coble of Rockingham,;sister, Betty Dunn Thomas of Rockingham and special friends, Howard and Shelia Walters of Patrick, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday at Abundant Life Church with Rev. Joe B. Wilkes, Jr. and Rev. Howard Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Abundant Life Church and at other times at Daniel’s home, 827 US Hwy 220 N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
