Arthur Green Richardson

Arthur Green Richardson, 87, of 1025 Bruton Rd. Ellerbe, died Monday, October 06, 2008 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mr. Richardson was born July 27, 1921 in Rockingham County, a son of the late Joseph and Nanny Via Richardson. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and had served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was a farmer, a former member of the Board of Directors of Farm Bureau, an organizer of the Mt. Pleasant Community Club, co founder of Price-Richardson Hunt Club and active in anything to do with farming. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Priddy Richardson, whom he married in 1942, sons, Edwin Richardson and wife Margaret , Donnie Richardson and wife Sandra, daughter Linda Russell and husband Bobby, all of Ellerbe, sister Doris Priddy of Mayodan, grandchildren, Eddie Richardson, Shelia McInnis, Kristi King, Karen Wilson, Anita Shepard, Erin Richardson, Will Russell, Ben Russell, and Molly Russell, great grandchildren, Maxine McInnis, Samantha McInnis, Luke McInnis, Will King, McKenzie Shepard, Jordan Shepard,Chase Wilson, Karlie Russell, and Josie Rae Russell. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home Ellerbe Chapel with Rev. Donald Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home on Bruton Road. Memorials may be made to Mt.
