Joyce Powell Millen

Joyce Powell Millen, 70, of Rockingham died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, November 07, 2014. She was born August 17, 1944 to the late James A. Powell and Bertha Crouch Powell in Richmond County, NC. Joyce was a devoted member of Abundant Life Church and loving mother, grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and spending time with her sons, grandchildren and family. Joyce was proud of and considered Cordova her community. She was preceded in death by her brother Julius M. Powell, sister, Patricia Rhyne, and her parents. Surviving are sons, James Earl Millen(Tammy), Tony Lee Millen(Donna), and former husband Earl Millen all of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Cheltsey, Jada Crocker, Keeley, Zach Barron, Kayla Sellars, Kennedy Sellars, Klein, Kaylee and great-granchildren, Bryleigh Yeargin, and Kenley Harrell. Special nephew Dane Owen Corbett, several nieces and special sister in law Christine Powell also survive. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Abundant Life Church in Rockingham with burial to follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home, Rockingham, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice Haven, 119 Highway US 1 North, Rockingham, NC 28379.
