Mrs. Alice Faye Parks, 57, formerly of Whiteville, died Monday, November 3, 2008 at Lillie Bennett Nursing Center in Wadesboro. She was born August 20, 1951 in Marlboro Co., SC, a daughter of Lillian Outlaw Hatcher and the late Hoyt Mack Hatcher. Mrs. Parks attended Church of Christ in Polkton. Mrs. Parks worked several years in the Walmart Distribution Center in Whiteville and had previous experience in textiles with Ellerbe Mill. Funeral services will be conducted graveside 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 5th in Ellerbe Cemetery with Preacher Bill Cameron and Rev. Carol Dawn Turner officiating. Surviving are a son, Richard Charles Hatcher; her mother, Lillian Outlaw Hatcher Turner of Wadesboro; three sisters, Teresa Biggers and Phyllis Goodwin, both of Wadesboro, and Linda Hatcher Taylor of Laurinburg; and a brother, David Edward Hatcher of Morven. Memorials may be made to Lillie Bennett Nursing Center, 500 Morven Rd., Wadesboro, NC 28170. Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe is assisting Mrs. Parks’ family.
