Hazel Owens Bailey

Hazel Owens Bailey, 93, of Rockingham, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Penn Center Nursing Home, in Reidsville, NC. She was born Oct. 1, 1912, a daughter of the late Walter C. and Ida Hamilton Owens. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and was active in women’s ministries. She owned and operated Bailey’s Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She was also a CNA for Home Health at Richmond Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Cox and Rev. Harris Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Richmond County Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Bailey. She is survived by her son, James A. Bailey of Deland, Fla.; daughters, JoAnn Ballard of Daytona, Fla, and Jewel Lynn of Reidsville; nine grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the memorial service.
