Barbara Wallace Jenkins

Barbara Wallace Jenkins, 81 of Rockingham, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, December 12, 2014. She is now an angel watching over her family. Mrs. Wallace was born September 25, 1933 in Richmond County , a daughter of the late Emmett and Lucille McIntosh Wallace. She was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, where she was in the choir and served as church secretary, also she shared her gifts of talent with many through her creative work. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, David L. Jenkins of the home; daughters, Tina Jenkins Graves and husband Earl of Rockingham, Beth Jenkins Williams of Charlotte; grandchildren, Maranda Howell Robinson and husband Daniel of Liberty, Bryan Schmiedeshoff of Charlotte; great grandchildren who were the light of her life, Mason and Natalie Robinson of Liberty; special caregiver, Linda Seagraves of Ellerbe and special friend, Doretha Hamilton. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2pm Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Briles officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to thank Richmond County Hospice for their compassionate care and comfort during this time.
