Ralph Jenkins Meacham

Ralph Jenkins Meacham, 88, of Ellerbe, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Ralph was born June 22, 1926 in Richmond County, a son of the late Richmond Jenkins and Willa Flora Cagle Meacham. He had attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, retired from J.P.Phifer Co, and was an avid hunter, especially hunting Turkeys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine W. Meacham, daughter Kaye M. Young and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his children, Ralph J. “Chuck” Meacham, Jr. (Susan) of Milford, NJ, Daisy Luanne Long (Wade) of Rockingham, Kellie M. Benson (Randy) of Rockingham; son-in-law, Ronald Young of Ellerbe; grandchildren, Donna Baucom, Maxine “Maxie” Poole, Rebecca Meacham and great grandson, Gage Burdick. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Elizabeth Polk and Rev. Donald Daniel officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the Benson home, 111 Joyce St., Rockingham.
