Mrs. Evern Morgan Entwistle, 89, formerly of Lancaster Lane. Rockingham, died Thursday, November 06, 2008 at Britthaven of Hamlet. Mrs. Entwistle was born November 8, 1919 in Stanley, Co, a daughter of the late Coley Grady “Tom’ and Edna Marks Morgan. She was a graduate of the Hamlet Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for many years. She later furthered her education at East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Library Science. She retired from Richmond County Schools as Librarian at Ellerbe Primary School. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church, where she assisted in the development of the church library, worked with the Richmond County Board of Elections and was an avid Carolina Fan. Her husband, George Parker Entwistle, Jr. preceded her in death. Surviving are sons, William S. Hartgrove and wife Dianne of Youngsville, NC, John W, Hartgrove and wife Betty of Goose Creek, SC, Raymond T. Entwistle and wife Bonnie of Rockingham, daughters, Linda H. Penuel and husband Bill of Rockingham, Faith E. Hamlin of Lexington, grandchildren, Andy Penuel, Chris Penuel, Katie Russell, Will Hartgrove, Emily Hartgrove, Scott Hartgrove, Elizabeth Lowery, Morgan Entwistle, Buck Entwistle, Andrew Hamlin and Caroline Hamlin, 5 great grandchildren and a sister Betty Harrelson of Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. William Kearse officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the Penuel home, 523 Louise Ave. Rockingham. Memorials may be made to the Library of Crestview Baptist Church, 436 Crestview Dr., Rockingham, NC 28379 or to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy 1 N., Rockingham, NC 28379
