William Doug England

William Doug England, 68, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Pruitt Healthcare in Rockingham. Doug was born September 29, 1946 in Richmond County, a son of the late Summie Francis and Maggie Grooms England. He had worked at Aleo Manufacturing and CP&L. He was an avid fan of Richmond Raider Football and for many years was the equipment manager for the football team. He was also a member of Sweet Haven Church. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ethel Barwick, Bobby England, Eugene “Gene” England, Stancil England, Joann Lunceford, J.W. England and Jack England. He is survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Northam Cemetery.
