Ruth Kirkley Andrews

Ruth Kirkley Andrews, 91, of 720 S. Caroline St. Rockingham, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at Firsthealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mrs. Andrews was born July 1, 1917 in Chesterfield County, SC., a daughter of the late Charlie Thomas and Beulah Sutton Kirkley. She was a member of Cordova United Methodist Church and had retired from Burlington Industries after 35 years of service. Her husband, Thomas Jefferson Andrews, sisters, Myrtis Wilkes and Doris Brock and a brother Charles Kirley, preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Biles of Rockingham, grandchildren, Carol Biles of Rockingham, Joey Biles of Hamlet, brother, Dan Kirkley of Whiteville and a sister, Louise Nista of New Haven CT. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Cordova United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Milford Oxendine officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Caroline St. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Richmond County, P.O.
