Welton Shepherd Allen

Welton Shepherd Allen, 81, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Transylvania County Hospital in Brevard. Mrs. Allen was born July 7, 1933 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Luther and Margaret Irene Smith Shepherd. She had retired from West Rockingham Elementary School and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Allen and sister, Sarah Margaret Trombini. Surviving are her son Terry Allen and wife LaVelle of Rosman, NC and a granddaughter, Madison Allen of Rosman, NC. Graveside services will be held at 1pm Friday, January 9, 2015 in Northam Cemetery with Rev. Marty Reid and Rev. James Watson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
