Lanelle Joyce Baxley

Lanelle Joyce Baxley, 69, of Ellerbe, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Baxley was born January 17, 1945 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Leeanna Darnell Joyce. She graduated from Ellerbe High School and Campbell University. She attended Concord United Methodist Church, retired from Commonwealth Hosiery after 22 years and later worked with Pinehurst Resort for 10 years. Surviving are her husband, James Leroy Baxley of the home; children, Charlie James Baxley of Ellerbe, Julie Wilkes of Carthage and Wendy Autry of Ellerbe; 5 grandchildren; brother, Harlan Joyce of Ellerbe; and sisters, Dathia Lee of Ellerbe and Marlene Lowder of Mt. Gilead. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Dena White, Rev. Dan Capps and Rev. Eric Joyce officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Monday at the church and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
