Dorothy Rumley Meacham

Dorothy Gray " Dotty" Rumley Meacham, 68, of 199 W. Page St. Ellerbe, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Meacham was born October 26, 1940 in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Clifton Rumley and Gladys Knight Blankenship. She was a member of First Baptist Church Ellerbe and had retired from the Air Force Base Exchange System after 25 years of service. Surviving are her husband, Jerry Meacham of the home, daughters, Deborah Lee Hanson and Theresa Ann Warner, both of Klamath Falls, OR, brothers, Wally Blankenship of Mt. Gilead, Tommy Blankenship and Steve Blankenship, both of Troy, sisters Jo Ann Williams of Ellerbe, Betty Lou Parsons of Troy, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 –8:00 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N.
