Samantha Lynn White

Samantha Lynn White of 201 Rushing Road Hoffman, NC died at her home after an extended illness on Nov 17, 2008. Samantha was born Nov 1, 1966. She was an accomplished pianist and was a member of the Hoffman United Methodist Church where she started at an early age as the pianist, which she continued for many years. She loved music and was diversified in all genres. She graduated from Richmond Senior High, where she was a member of the Marching Raider Band. She continued her love of music by becoming a member of the Moore County Jazz Band while attending Sandhills Community College. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Gardner Webb where she majored in political science and criminal justice. She then attended Central Carolina College in Sanford, where she earned her paralegal degree. Prior to her illness, she worked as a paralegal in Moore County. In addition to her love for music and law, she was an avid animal lover. Her maternal grandfather, Brice Rushing and her beloved aunt Mary Sue Rushing Johnson preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother Mattie Watson, grandmother, Martha Rushing, sister Nancy Bostick, beloved Bassett Hound Scarlet and other beloved animal friends, Sable, Zoey and Max all of the home. She is also survived by her beloved aunt Lynda and John McMillan of Wagram, Great Uncle Richard and Grace Bostick of Hoffman, Great Aunt Phyllis (Tib) Bostic of Columbia, SC; Great Aunt Gladys Green of Pinebluff, NC and Great Uncle Earl Rushing of Rockingham, NC. Nieces and Nephews: Michael, Caitlin, Kendall and Brooke McMillan of Wake Forest, NC, Matthew McMillan of Laurinburg, NC, Mark and Andrew McMillan of Laurinburg NC, Christy, Domenick, Rayna and Raymond Ragone of Carolina Shores, NC and Jason, Joan, Madison, Brice Johnson and Garrett Mitchum of Mint Hill, NC. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, November 22nd in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
