Clarence Poole

Mr. Clarence Poole. 92, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Britthaven of Hamlet. He was born October 17, 1916 in Wake County, a son of the late Ernest and Pearl Ann Poole. Mr. Poole was a floral designer, having worked with Colonial Flower Shop, Ratcliffe’s and Elfrieda’s Florist in Charlotte. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ellerbe. Funeral service will be conducted graveside 2:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2008 at Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte with Rev. Donald Daniel officiating. Surviving are a sister, Esther Smith of Greensboro; a brother, Douglas Poole of Swansboro; a number of nieces and nephews and special niece, Bonnie Holland; son-in-law, Charles Gordon of Charlotte; and a family friend, Edward Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Poole and a daughter, Barbara Gordon. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
