Archie ‘Jack’ Liles, 79, of 112 Parrot Lane, Rockingham died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. He was born October 4, 1926 in Richmond Co., a son of the late Archie and Ettie McGee Liles. Mr. Liles was the owner of Archie’s CB and Auto Center in Cordova for many years. He is a Mason and a member of Lodge 269 in Wheaton, IL. Mr. Liles served in the U. S. Army. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30th in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are; his wife, Evelyn Chavis Liles of the home; two daughters, Brenda Allen and husband Wayne of Wheaton, IL and N. Gale Goodwin and husband William of McKinney, TX; three grandchildren, W. Edward Allen, Jr., Michael E. Allen, and Ashley C. Hartness; three great grandchildren, Nolan M. Allen, Joey E. Hartness, and Rachael Hartness; one brother, Bobby Liles of Rockingham; two sisters, Ruth Melton of Rockingham and Pearl Warricks of Statesville. Mr. Liles was preceded in death by brother and sisters, W. J. Liles, Dorothy Swails, and Edna DeBerry. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
