Doris Webb Park

Doris Sullivan Webb Park, 78, of 141 Gibson Drive, Rockingham, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Penick Village in Southern Pines. Mrs. Park was born March 3, 1930 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Willie L and Gladys Maurice Webb. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Park in March 2008 and a brother Joe Webb Thomas. As a life-time member of Zion United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir, worked with the youth and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She retired from J. C. Penney after 27 years as a stock clerk. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Phillip Park of Ellenboro, Butch Park and wife Pamela of Rockingham, daughter, Saundra Smith and husband John of Rockingham, a brother William Webb of Columbia S.C. and two sisters, Sue Webb Howdyshell and Maurice Webb Rohleder both of Columbia S.C. ,grandchildren, Lori Hendershot and husband Billy of Winston-Salem, Tracy Castlebury and husband Michael of Cornelius, Patrick Brian Park of Denver, Dana Dawkins Gathigi and husband John Gathigi Nwgaro of Stamford, Connecticut , Erin Dawkins Suwattana and husband Anusorn of Rockingham, Beth Hall and husband Nick of Rockingham, Josh Park and wife Jessica of Rockingham, Becca Park of Rockingham, great grandchildren, Drew and Hope Hendershot, and Rebekah and Sarah Castlebury. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 4, 2008, at Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Brooks, Rev. Phillip Park, and Rev. Joey Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 P.M. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on Gibson Drive.
