William Franklin Griggs

William Franklin Griggs, 69 of North Myrtle Beach, SC passed away February 26, 2015 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. William was born on June 28, 1945 in Richmond County, NC the son of the late Melvin Durwood Griggs and Kathleen Dean .Griggs. After retirement he was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife, Martha Griggs; children, James Griggs and wife Ashley Griggs, William Griggs, Jr., Darrell Griggs Jr, and wife Judy Griggs, Haley Smith and husband Justin Smith, seven grandchildren, sisters, Barbara Simmons(Roger Simmons), Sue Nelson (Carlton Nelson), Donnie Griggs(Dianne Griggs). His parents and a brother , Melvin Griggs, Jr. preceded him in death. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Carter Colonial Chapel in Rockingham, NC. Burial will follow at Mt. Beulah Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Saturday February 28, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and other times at the home of sister-in-law Pat Griggs.
