Sandra Luther McLaughlin, 66, of Winnabow, NC and formerly Burgaw, NC. Mom walked on this earth as an Angel and on Saturday morning, March 7, 2015, went to her Heavenly home to walk the streets of gold with our Heavenly Father. Mom lived everyday by the words in Ephesians 4; 29-32. She loved the Lord and lived a Godly life. She was a friend to everyone who met her and could you see God's light shine through her in her sweet spirit. Heaven has gained such a special woman and we are so heartbroken to let her go, but now we know that her diseased body is healed and she is with her Lord and Savior and her loved ones that have gone before her. We know that there are many jewels in her crown. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mable Luther of Rockingham, NC and her husband of 39 years, Neil Douglas McLaughlin, Sr. Surviving are the loves of her life, her son, Neil McLaughlin, Jr. and wife Judie, her granddaughter and best friend, Paige McLaughlin and her miracle grandson, Aaron McLaughlin all of Winnabow, NC. Two brothers, Jimmy Luther and wife Donna of LaVernia, TX and Jackie Luther and wife Donna of Rockingham, NC. So many very special nieces, nephews and cousins whom she kept up with each and every one of their birthdays, and loved them all dearly. She had so many friends, but she held a special place in her heart for the little "ladies" group of friends in Burgaw,NC. She laughed so much when told us their little get togethers. Mom was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Bolivia, NC and previously of Bible Baptist Church in Burgaw, NC. A celebration of Mom's life will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 1:00 at Richmond County Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC. The family will see friends following the service. Our family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff of the 6th floor at NHRMC who were so caring and gentle to her and also Thank You to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice staff for all of the caring, and loving support that was shown to Mom and our family. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial or tribute donation to either the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 1406 Physicians Dr. Wilmington,NC. 28401 or to the Alzheimer's Association 255 N.
