Betty Jo Peek Edwards

Betty Jo Peek Edwards, 83, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Pruitt Health in Rockingham. Mrs. Edwards was born July 22, 1931 in Moore County, a daughter of the late Emory Ervin and Beatrice Meacham Peek. She had retired from textiles and had also been a sitter. She was preceded in death by her children, Cecil, Jimmy and Freddie Edwards and brothers, Thomas V. “Sonny” and James H. “Tim” Peek. Surviving are 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and sister, Shirley Thomas of Rockingham. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Wesley Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the Thomas home.
