Diana Leonard

Mrs. Diana Goodwin Leonard, 66, of 500 Roberdel Road, Rockingham died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her home. She was born February 26, 1942 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Lendo and Elizabeth Diggs Goodwin. Mrs. Leonard was a member of West Rockingham United Methodist Church. She attended Western Carolina University. Mrs. Leonard worked for a number of years in Greensboro with L. W. Ruth Construction and Pella Window and Door Co. She worked with her husband for many years assisting in cosmetic chemical sales and then was associated with Signature Travel in Asheville as a travel agent. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 7th at West Rockingham United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving is a son, Timothy Goodwin and wife Marcy of Wadesboro; and twenty grandchildren. Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Walter Leonard in Nov. 2008. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
