Blanche Honeycutt

Mrs. Blanche R. Honeycutt, 87, formerly of Crawford Creek and Anson Ave., Rockingham died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital. She was born July 4, 1921 in Wake Co., NC, a daughter of the late William Troy and Ursula Goodwin Roundy. Mrs. Honeycutt was a homemaker. She attended Women’s College in Greensboro and was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockingham. Mrs. Honeycutt had been a resident of the Hermitage Retirement Center and Palmer Hinson Care Center for a number of years. Funeral services will be conducted graveside 11:00 am Friday, January 9th in Eastside Cemetery with Rev. William Kearse, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at 214 Lee Thee Church Rd. Surviving are a son, George William Honeycutt, Jr. and wife Jody of Rockingham; a daughter, Donna H. Buford and husband Mickey of Monroe; two grandchildren, Jeff Long and wife Meredith of Charlotte and Justin Buford and wife Abby of Huntersville; and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Honeycutt was preceded in death by her husband, George William Honeycutt in 1982. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are requested to First Baptist Church, 201 N.
