Franklin Farrell "Stub" Craven, 78, of Norman, passed away Wednesday, May 27. 2015 at his home. Mr. Craven was born October 23, 1936 in Richmond County, a son of the late Artis Banks and Minnie Lee Warner Craven. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church and currently attended Marcus United Methodist Church. He was a lifelong farmer, received the Outstanding Young Farmer Jaycee award in 1969, the Condervation Farm Family of the Year in 1987 and had served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Land Bank and Farm Service Agency. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Craven, brothers Dolan, John, Harold and Clarence and a sister, Mildred Hall. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Steele Craven of the home; children, Donna Harbolt (Andy) of Windblow, Frankie Craven (Melissa) of Rockingham, Kenneth Craven (Tammy) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Joseph Craven, Britani Craven, Kellie Carr, Dusty Craven, Sammi Henderson, Casey Craven, Kayla Leviner, Jake Harbolt, Ethan Harbolt; great grandhildren, Tate Craven, Mia Carr, Ivey Craven, Rider Craven, Lexie Craven, Liam Leviner, Bryson Hinson; brother, Evon Craven of Ellerbe, and sisters, Marie Robinson of Candor and Cecile Bruton of Mt. Gilead. Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday at Marcus United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Joyce and Rev. Donnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 5 to 8 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
