Richard George Wright

Richard George Wright, 69, of Mt. Gilead, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his home. Mr. Wright was born July 18, 1945 in Richmond County, the son of the late John Sanders and Minnie Hill Wright. He was a member of Stoney Fork Baptist Church, Elberta Lodge #654, A.F.& A. M. and had retired from Perdue. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Nelson Wright, and sons, Phillip and Lee Richardson. Surviving are sons, John Wright (Debbie) of Mt. Gilead, Tim Richardson (Theresa) of Laurinburg, Steve Richardson (Kathy) of Marston; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 6 pm Wednesday in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home Ellerbe with Rev. Terry Burris officiating. The family will see friends following the service at the funeral home.
