Wilma Arlene Smith Hayden Sweet

Wilma Arlene Smith Hayden Sweet, 80, of Ellerbe, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living Center in Candor. Mrs. Sweet was born May 5, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Clem C. and Hessie Baucom Smith. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hayden, brothers, Harford Smith, Haines Smith, Gary Smith , sister Wanda Smith and great grandchild, Sierra Hayden. Surviving are her children, Roger Hayden, Earl Hayden, Keith Hayden, Jimmy Hayden, Brenda Ward, Gayle Sweet; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a sister, Irma Appleton. Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday at Carter Funeral Home Ellerbe Chapel with Rev. Tim Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at Jimmy’s home, 624 Firetower Rd., Ellerbe.
