Mattie McDonald Puckett

Mattie McDonald Puckett, 88, of 139 Gibson Nursery Rd., Ellerbe, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet. Mrs. Puckett was born August 2, 1920 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie McDonald. She was a member of Rourk Presbyterian Church and a Homemaker. Her husband, William Riley Puckett, and her daughters, Gracie Comer and Jane Spears preceded her in death. Surviving are sons, Riley Puckett of Rockingham, Don Puckett of Albemarle, Jimmy Puckett of Ellerbe, daughter, Annie Darnell of Ellerbe, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Rourk Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. John Stone officiating. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the Darnell Home, 125 Gibson Nursery Rd. Ellerbe.
