James Carson Outen

James Carson Outen, 88, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at his home. Mr. Outen was born December 10, 1926 in Lancaster County, SC , a son of the late Wiliam Carson and Nancy O’Neal Outen. He was a member of Sweet Haven Church and had retired from textiles.He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Juanita Mincey Outen, children, James C. Outen, Jr., Danny Outen, Wayne “Tim” Outen and Betty Wilhoit and 2 granddaughters, Jill Outen and Tammy Taylor. Surviving are 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren, a brother, Tom Outen of Rockingham and a sister, Frances Warner of Rockingham. Funeral services will be at 3pm Monday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1971 E.
