Versie McGee

Mrs. Versie Flowers McGee, 95, of Rockingham died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Advance, NC. She was born January 31, 1914 in Andrews, NC, a daughter of the late Cornelius Austin Cannon and Mary Norton Cannon. Mrs. McGee had been a member of East Rockingham Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, February 16th at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Horace Flowers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are two sons, Horace Flowers and Jim Flowers, both of High Point; two daughters, Marlene Bradshaw of Gastonia and Juanita Crocker of Oklahoma City, OK; a brother, Doris W. Cannon of Rockingham; a sister, Katie McCants of Georgetown, SC; thirteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Flowers, and a daughter, Patricia Bryce, and brothers and sisters, Crowley, Loria, Mannie, Marvin, Dowie, Grover, Florie, and Ossie. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham is assisting Mrs. McGee’s family.
