Ms. Phyllis Joy Black Watson, 44 of 269 Ledbetter Street, Cordova died Monday, February 16, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Joy was born December 26, 1964 in Richmond County a daughter of Phyllis Gaddy Baker and the late Lloyd Black of Cordova. She was a correctional officer at Lanesboro Correctional Facility. She was a member of Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Kenneth Baber officiating. She is survived along with her mother, by her daughters Amber Gustafson and husband Bobby of Cordova and Clarissa Patrick of Hamlet, one son Jeffery Patrick of Hamlet. brother Lloyd Black Jr. of Cordova and one sister Martha “Weessie” Black Baldwin and husband John of Cordova, two grand children Jonathan and Emily Ann Gustafson. The family will receive friends Thursday at Carter Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Mt.
