Lillie Faye Gibson McCroskey, 63, of 172 McLeod St. Rockingham, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at her home. Mrs. McCroskey was born March 1, 1945 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Temple Coleman and Jessie Lee Morse Gibson. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, a sister, Ruby Brown, and brother, Daniel Gibson. Surviving are her husband, James W. McCroskey, Jr of the home, son, James W. “Jamie” McCroskey, III, daughter, Angela Hatcher and husband Brian, grandchildren, Brian Hatcher, II, Kimberly Hatcher, brothers, Henry Gibson and wife Georgia, Walter Gibson, , sisters, Annie Ruth Smith and husband Floyd, and Marie Parker, Monnie McCormick and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Tuttle and Rev. Corey Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at 124 Grant St.. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice 1119 Hwy U.S #1 N. Rockingham N.C. 28379 or God’s Rainbow Class % Pine Grove Baptist Church 275 Airport Rd. Rockingham N.C. 28379.
