James Charles Kirk

James Charles “Jim” Kirk, 64, of Rockingham, met his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Mr. Kirk was born December 18, 1950 in Richmond County, a son of the late Charles Mason and Cecil Saunders Kirk. Jim first and foremost loved his Lord. He was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and deacon. He loved racing, gospel singing and was a former member of the Servants Quartet. He had served in the North Carolina National Guard and retired from AT&T. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Crouch Kirk of the home; brother, Jerry Kirk (Pam) of Cordova; sisters, Patsy King (David) and Kathy Hailey (Roger), all of Rockingham; sister-in-law, Linda Ann Quintero of Bradenton, FL; brothers-in-law, Thomas Darrell Crouch of Ellerbe and Perry Covington Crouch of York, SC. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Briles and Rev. Dennis McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
