Brady Francis Speight

Brady Francis Speight, 92, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Hospice Haven. Mr. Speight was born January 25, 1923 in Scotland County, a son of the late Eli and Rosa Terry Speight. He was a member of Sweet Haven Church, had served his country in the US Army and had worked with Clark Equipment Company and Bojangles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Johnson Speight; son Daryl Craig Speight; daughter, Beverly Dawn Speight;grandchildren, Kevin Griggs and Frances Lindsey Griggs; brothers, Harvey D. Speight, E.A. “Ashworth” Speight, Jr, and Charles T. Speight and a sister, Louise Covington. Surviving are his children, Brady Douglas (Charity) Speight of Bennettsville, SC, John Dayle (Barbara) Speight of Hamlet; daughter, Denise Elaine Phillips of Wadesboro; 5grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Glenn Speight of Rockingham and sisters, Elizabeth Stone and Ruth Swails, both of Rockingham. Funeral services will be at 2pm Monday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller, Rev. Robbie Stewart and Rev. Chuck McKnight officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
