Kitty Williams Maddrey

Kitty Williams Maddrey, 81, of Ellerbe, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Maddrey was born November 14, 1933 in Durham County, the daughter of the late Katherine Williams Craig. She was a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Class of 1952, and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and pianist. For 18 years she was employed with the NOAA in Washington, DC and for the past 18 years with E.E.Vuncannon in Ellerbe. Surviving are her husband, Robert W. “Bob” Maddrey of the home; sons, Robert D. “Bobby” Maddrey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jimmy W. Maddrey (Vicky) of Hampstead, MD; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a brother, Andrew Craig of Asheville. A service to celebrate Kitty’s life will be at 2 pm Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Monroe officiating.
