Grace Lunceford Chavis

Grace Chavis Grace Lunceford Chavis, 89 of Rockingham passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Grace was born June 27, 1926 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Will and Hattie Lee Lunceford. She was a homemaker and worked in textiles. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tyson Chavis. Surviving are her son, John Tyson Chavis, Jr. of Rockingham; a sister Ruby Coward of Rockingham; her grandchildren, Matthew Chavis and Ashley Chavis; and her nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Wallace, SC. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham is assisting the Chavis Family.
