Betty L. Unuchek

Betty L. Unuchek, 84, of Rockingham, NC, peacefully passed away during her sleep on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Mrs. Unuchek was born November 16, 1931 in South Fork, PA, a daughter of the late Harry Hezekiah Yoder and Leona E. Thomas Locher. She married her Navy sweetheart in 1951 and they happily enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Before retiring, she and her husband owned and operated Unuchek’s Exxon and Grocery in South Fork, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas Unuchek and brother, Roger Locher. Surviving are daughters, Nicki Prieto (Michael) and Jill Parody, all of Rockingham; grandsons, Nicholas Prieto (Megan) of Cameron, NC, Oliver Parody of Durham, NC and Mason Parody of Raleigh, NC and brother, Robert Locher of Laurel, MD Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday at the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Daniel Diggs officiating. Private interment will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen, NC. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
