Mrs. Elaine Carol Hamilton Smith, 62, of Loris, SC died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at her home. She was born February 12, 1947, in Richmond County, a daughter of Velva Grant Hamilton and the late Cliff Hamilton. She served in the Women’s Army Corp and later worked as a Paralegal in a Law Office. Brothers Steve and Bucky Hamilton preceded her in death. Surviving are husband Robin Smith of the home, son Douglas Smith of the home, daughter Robyn Smith of Oklahoma, mother Velva G. Hamilton of Cordova, brothers Pete Hamilton of Jamestown, NC, Rick Hamilton of Hamlet, Harry Hamilton of Cordova, sister Sue Phillips of Rockingham, and 4 grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Interment will be private at a later date.
