Dorothy Black Gaddy

Dorothy Lee Black Gaddy, 73, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst. Mrs. Gaddy was born Ocotber 16, 1942 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James Roland and Martha Henderson Black. She had worked in textiles, as a CNA, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Earl Gaddy and a daughter, Betty Jo Gaddy. Surviving are her children, Edgar Earl Gaddy, Jr. of Rockingham, Dennis Wayne Gaddy (Wendy) of Rockingham, John Mitchell Gaddy (Catina) of Parkton, Sandra Gaddy McKenzie (Keven) of Hamlet; grandchildren, John Mitchell Gaddy, Jr., Mindy Michelle Ricks, Kevin Wayne Gaddy, Kristin Marie Davis, Matthew McKenzie, Alley Gaddy; great grandchildren, Blake and Hailey, Mason Gaddy, Brentley Gaddy, Catara McMillan and foster grandson, Kayden Bill. Funeral services will be at 2pm Sunday in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. June Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the McKenzie home, 202 Battley Dairy Rd., Hamlet.
