Bernice Ganel Threatt

Bernice Ganel Thomas Threatt, 88 of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst. She was born June 24, 1927 in Buffalo, SC a daughter of the late Madison Lonnie and Mary Ollie Deese Thomas. Bernice was a nurse assistant and also a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James R. Threatt, son Jimmy Threatt, and her brothers, George, Bobby and Earl Thomas. Surviving are her son, Jerry Threatt; daughters Janice D’Amico(Patrick), Jean Newton(Phillip), Sharon Stone(Ron), and Linda Threatt; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm. Sunday, December 20, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham, with interment to follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
