Edith Lynette Jacobs

Edith Lynette Hayes Jacobs, 82 of Rockingham passed away at her home on Friday, December 18, 2015, surrounded by her family. Edith was born July 1, 1933 in Kings Mountain, NC a daughter of the late Charlie and Ella Beane Hayes. She worked in textiles and child care services. She was preceded in death by her parents, her youngest son, Little Bit Jacobs, her sister, Bea Heaton and brother Richard Hayes. Surviving are her husband, Pastor William E. “Bud” Jacobs of the home, daughters Vickie Clark (Don) of Laurinburg, Debbie Jacobs of Rockingham; son Brother Jacobs (Geraldine), Randy Jacobs (Sandra) of Rockingham; daughter-in-law, Carol Jacobs of Rockingham; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Clifford Hayes, L.C. Hayes and Danny Hayes, and her sisters, Mary Hayes Allen and Brenda Hayes Peele. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Jefferson Park Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Webster and Pastor Rocky Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.
