Burnie Webb

Mr. Stewart Burnie Webb, 76, of 142 Hudson St., Rockingham died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. He was born March 19, 1933 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Stewart Webb and Rachel Hunt Webb. Mr. Webb was a member of Roberdell United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee and sang in the choir. He was the owner of Webb Grading and Hauling and was on the Bear Branch Cemetery Board. Mr. Webb, also, served in the United States Army. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, April 11th at Roberdell United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregory Minnick officiating. Interment will follow in Bear Branch Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Julie Webb Currie and husband Will of Rockingham and Bonnie Webb Pence and husband Jerome of Linville; one grandson, William A. Currie IV of Rockingham; a brother, James Webb and wife Mary of Rockingham; and two aunts, Pat Hunt McKinnon of Seneca, SC and Omelia Webb Thrower of Rockingham. Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Shepherd Webb, in Dec. 2007. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service at Roberdell United Methodist Church.
