Mary Alice Walker

Mary Alice Travis Walker, 83, of Hamlet, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare in Rockingham. Mrs. Walker was born June 11, 1932 in Alleghany County, Maryland, a daughter of the late John Burns and Ethel Ravenscroft Travis. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Wadesboro, a homemaker and for many years served the Pentecostal Holiness Church as a minister’s wife. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Rev. Ralph David Walker of the home; sons, Ralph David Walker, Jr. ( June) of Waycross, GA, Mark Allan Walker (Sharon) of Rockingham, Timothy Paul Walker (Tina) of Rockingham, Craig Douglas Walker (Lezlie) of Williamsburg, VA, Robin Sue Pitchford (Preston) of Elizabeth City, NC; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday at Kings Gate Church with Pastor Eddie McLean and Pastor Wayne Whitley officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Thursday at Kings Gate Church and at other times at the home.
