Myrtle Lee McDonald Thompson

Myrtle Lee McDonald Thompson, 72, of Rockingham passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Thompson was born December 7, 1943 in Richmond County, a daughter of Ida Lee Tarlton McDonald and the late Edward Levan McDonald. She had been employed with Klopman Mills and in the cafeteria of Cordova Elementary School. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mitchell Levan McDonald. Surviving are her husband, William Clyde Thompson of the home; daughter and son in law, Martha Elaine and Kenneth Steen of Rockingham; mother, Ida Lee Tarlton McDonald of Rockingham and sister, Barbara Sue Craddock of Asheville. Graveside services will be at 3 pm Friday at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joe B. Wilkes, Jr. officiating. The family will see friends following the service and at other times at her mother’s home.
