Major Tracy Ward

Major Tracy Ward, 78, of Rockingham, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mr. Ward was born June 13, 1930 in Richmond County, a son of the late Roy Nance and Pearl Clark Ward. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a retired computer analyst. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Polly Williams Ward of the home, brother, Willie Ward, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday in Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating. The family will be at the home of his nephew, Joe Williams, 142 Wildwood Rd. Rockingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to East Rockingham United Methodist Church, 1009 Scaleybark Rd, Rockingham, NC 28379.
