Betty Jean Morgan Yarbrough

Betty Jean Morgan Yarbrough, 84, of Ellerbe, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Yarbrough was born July 14, 1931 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late John Robert and Berta Mae Saunders Morgan. She was an active member of Norman United Methodist Church, a former member of Ellerbe Lioness Club and active with the Ellerbe Lions Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashley Grey Yarbrough, brothers, Robert, Roy, Noah, Street and Doug Morgan, sisters, Glenn Warner, Beulah Galloway, Mary Greene, Nell Haywood and Blanche Parsons. Surviving are her children, Grey Yarbrough (Carla) of Ellerbe, Howard Yarbrough of the home, Donnie Yarbrough (Debbie) of Rockingham, Ronnie Yarbrough (Bonnie) of Ellerbe and Kim Arnette (Chuck) of Norman; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm Friday at Norman United Methodist Church with Rev. Dena White and Rev. Donnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Norman Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the trust fund to be established in Howard’s name through BB&T bank in Ellerbe, NC.
