William Lewis Dawkins

William Lewis Dawkins, 77, of 114 Skyline Dr. Rockingham, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2007 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dawkins was born December 14, 1931 in Richmond County, a son of the late William Arthur and Gennie Helms Dawkins. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Rockingham Masonic Lodge #495, A.F. & A.M. and had been employed with Aleo Manufacturing Company. His son, Robin E.Dawkins preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Free Dawkins of the home, son, William Corey Dawkins of Rockingham, daughter, Cathy Dawkins Henderson of Easley, SC, grandchildren, Emily Sellers, Zachary Henderson, Jenna Lee Henderson, Lucas Henderson, Blaire Dawkins, Bradley Dawkins, Blake Dawkins and a sister, Rotha D. Brown of Robbins. A service to celebrate the life of Lewis Dawkins will be held at 2:00 PM Satuday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Wilson and Rev. Wayne Tuttle officiating. Interment will be held privately. The family will see friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home on Skyline Dr. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 275 Airport Rd. Rockingham, NC 28379.
