Alice Virginia Campbell Sargent

Alice Virginia Campbell Sargent, 91 of Rockingham passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Hospice Haven. She was born November 8, 1924 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Edward Ford and Mary Aline Brown Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hugh Sargent; a son Leonard Eugene Sargent and a son-in-law Benny Pond. Surviving are her daughters, Angeline Lamb(David) of Bolivia, Linda Harris(Robert) of Rockingham, Judy Pond and Kay Sargent both of Hamlet, Mary Shepherd(Elbert) of Rockingham, and Sherry Sargent of the home; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren And 5 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Paul Campbell of Charleston and a sister, Elizabeth Millar of Alabama. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at Outreach for Jesus with Pastor Marvin Taylor and Pastor David Lee officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 – 3:00 pm prior to the service and other times at the home of Judy Pond.
